This wedding happened to be one of those ones where I hid behind my camera bawling my eyes out all day. Maybe it was knowing the groom since he was little (I went to school with his big sister from first grade through high school graduation), or maybe it was just how dang sweet his bride is! These families were such a joy to work with, and Katie and Kurt’s wedding day was one that reminds me just how much I love what I do.
It may have been one of the hottest days of the year, but it DIDN’T RAIN, so no one was complaining! (Except maybe me, because I’m practically a penguin. But we were so lucky during a wet June to have two beautiful days in a row for this double-wedding weekend!)
The ladies got ready on-site, and the gentlemen arrived a few hours prior to the ceremony. The couple did a first look (which was so. stinkin’. sweet.), and family formals & bridal party formals were held before the ceremony. This allowed for *so* much time for the couple’s portraits together following the ceremony – I was over the moon with so much time!
How cute are Katie’s Kate Spade kicks?! And that ring – just stunning!
Katie & Kurt chose Hall & Oates’ “You Make My Dreams Come True” for their first dance, which was so much fun! It suited their personalities perfectly to have a fast first dance!
The evening’s entertainment was provided by the Goodman Fiske Band, and words won’t do justice to what an awesome job they did. The guests had a blast dancing the night away!
After so much time for portraits earlier in the day, we even got to sneak out for sunset portraits! Spoiled photographer, much?!
You two had the best day ever! I’m so glad I was a part of it, and I wish you so many years of happiness together! <3
